X-Ray Vision

You know, superheroes aren’t the only ones who have the advantage of x-ray vision! But, unlike your favourite superhero, we need state-of-the-art equipment to do it. And we have everything we need to take x-rays or dental radiographs, as well as digital photographs of your teeth and gums!

Your first visit is comprised of a comprehensive examination, which includes taking x-rays of your mouth. These images let the dentist do a thorough tooth-by-tooth assessment, exploring and identifying any problems you might have unseen by the naked eye – i.e. cavities or bone loss.

Vital to your dental prevention plan – x-rays! They allow us to catch those small issues before they become big ones.

Waterview Dental prioritizes the health of your patients. In this spirit, we utilize digital x-rays, exposing our patients to far less radiation than traditional methods.

We want you to know that your safety is important to us!

Digital X-Ray

Taking a digital x-ray is a critical part of your dental health plan and allows your dentist to thoroughly evaluate your teeth, uncovering problems not seen by the naked eye, such as cavities or bone loss.

As mentioned, we use equipment that helps keep our patients safe. The use of digital x-rays means far more limited exposure to harmful radiation than other types of dental x-rays –  a reduction of as much as 80%! Digital x-rays don’t require film or processing chemicals, and they provide your dentist with a good, accurate image almost immediately. While it might not be better quality than a conventional film image, it doesn’t require the same radiation exposure and many clinics are moving to this technology.

Benefits of a digital x-ray include:

  • X-ray results are available in mere seconds

  • Capacity for image enhancement to help confirm and reinforce an accurate diagnosis

  • Convenient, electronic storage and ease of digital transfer allow easy specialist referrals
